Retake Quiz score not being sent to Moodle LMS

Hello all,
I am a trial user of Storyline 360. I published a module and I am testing it in our Moodle LMS.
The grade for the class is fully based on a 10 question quiz at the end of the module. I have a results page working correctly. The problem I am having is when a user fails the quiz and then retakes the quiz the new grade is not being sent to the LMS. If the user passes on the first attempt there is no problem. I can see a live log of activities in the LMS and I do not think the re-test score is being sent from my SCORM package.
I have tried both passed/incomplete and passed/failed. I tried using the classic player and the modern player.
Lot of work to see it fail at this point!
Thanks,
GW

Hey Greg,
Happy to lend a hand with troubleshooting! First, I'd like to test the file in SCORM Cloud to see if I run into the same behavior you're seeing in Moodle.
If I do run into the same problem you saw, that tells me that something went awry in your Storyline file. From there, I'll do some further digging to find the culprit!
Would you mind sending me your unpublished file for testing?
Dear Alyssa,
I hev the same problem of Greg: "The problem I am having is when a user fails the quiz and then retakes the quiz the new grade is not being sent to the LMS. If the user passes on the first attempt there is no problem."
Do you have any solution to this issue?
Really thanks
Mirko
Is the course set to pass/fail? Fail often means you cannot pass and the course is marked as complete
Hello Mirko,
As Phil mentions above, most learning management systems (LMSs) consider a course to be in review mode when attempting it again after the completion requirement has been met. This prevents learners from accidentally changing their course status back to incomplete. If you'd like to change the default behavior, see this article for details.
Hello,
Was a solution to this issue found? I am having the same issue.

Hello,
Was a solution to this issue ever found? I am having the same issue with Moodle.

Hello Carol and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Thanks for reaching out and letting us know that you're running into a similar issue with Moodle.
We did not hear back from the users above, and I do not see a support case for Greg either.
Were you able to test this is SCORM Cloud as Alyssa shared above to see if you experience the same issue? Testing in SCORM Cloud helps identify if the problem lies within the project or the LMS.
Hi Carol,
I'm in a similar situation where the LMS is in "Review Mode" for subsequent attempts.
My LMS is Blackboard, and this solution seems to work for me, but you will need to do some testing for Moodle.
On the final results slide, one of the default triggers is "Submit results Results Slide when the timeline starts".
I would remove this trigger so that the quiz does not submit the results automatically pushing the LMS into Review Mode.
Then I add another button to the screen such as "Submit results and Close Quiz", and I would include these triggers (you don't need the exit course if you don't want):
When the user clicks the button, it then pushes the final completed score to the LMS.
So the user is able to review and retry the quiz, but the pushing of the score is user driven.
I hope this is helpful to you and others in some way.
Cheers,
Jeff.
Hello Jeff!
Thank you very much! I'll give it a try.

Hello Leslie,
I tested my SCORM package on SCORM Cloud. I am not experiencing the issue on SCORM Cloud. Any thoughts?
Carol
Hi Carol,
Thanks for testing and sharing the results.
If you are unable to replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, I'd be sure to follow up with your LMS team to understand the difference that you're running into.
Were you able to take a look at this article to see if the suggestions there would work for you? I know Jeff is sharing his solution above as well.
Yes, thank you. Will keep working on it.
Carol
