Going through the same issues. I want the user to skip the content and go straight to the quiz slides. As with Amy's initial question, I have placed learning checkpoints throughout my package and I simply need the user to retry the quiz questions only and not all the slides between the quiz questions. Using SL2
When I click the Retry Quiz button, it goes to the first quiz question and then the rest of the course thereafter. I would like it to only revisit the quiz pages.
I am pretty new to Storyline, so it's quite possible I am missing something pretty simple! :)
Hi Dan and Amy! Thanks for that context. The community can certainly help you with that custom set-up, and this video tutorial should get you started in the right direction.
The setup is about 100 slides with 14 questions throughout. The learner
has to score 100% so it's important that they be able to retake or review
the quiz if needed. When the learner clicks the retry/review quiz buttons
on the results slide, I would like them to just revisit the quiz questions,
not the content in between.
I followed the directions in the tutorial and retraced my steps several
times, but can't seem to figure out why they aren't working as expected and
coding my variable to "true."
When I test it and click the review quiz button, I am taken to question 1
(which is what I want), but then the content between questions 1 and 2
plays. I don't have the option available to learners to skip ahead or move
the seekbar so it's important that they're taken there by the course itself.
If so, you actually don't need to follow the steps in that video above. The Review Quiz behavior has changed, and now you should be able to review only the quiz questions (no variables needed).
I put together a quick sample file in Storyline 2 (Update 13) that you can check out. When you click Review Quiz in that sample file, do you see only quiz slides in quiz review?
Thanks Alyssa, I did only see the quiz slides when I reviewed. Does this
only apply to "review quiz" and not "retry quiz"? Any suggestions to make
the retry option work in the same way?
Yes, you can apply Becky's method here to the retry quiz button. That way, when the learner clicks "Retry Quiz," they will only see quiz slides and not content slides.
The reason for my initial post was that I tied this triggers to the review *and
*retry buttons and they weren't working. I can limit them to the retry
button, but what am I missing? When I retry the quiz I am still prompted
to view the content in between the quiz slides.
I have applied the steps in the video to the first two quiz questions and
the variable is not triggering the expected behavior. Can I share the file
with you privately so you can take a look?
Hi Alyssa, New convert from Captivate. Thanks for posting the video. I know this is an older thread, but it's the newest I've found on the issue that Lindy brought up. I followed Becky's video and it didn't work (but certainly seemed like it should), then I followed yours and you mentioned moving the Trigger to the top of the list. That fixed it - woohoo, thanks!! However, when I watched the rest of the video, on the content-following-Question slide the "Jump to next" confused me ... until I realized you only had one content slide between Question slides in the example. I have many slides between Question slides, so I needed to jump to the next Question like Becky states, not "next slide." For newbees like myself, it may help to mention that in the video. Otherwise, thank you very much for the thread!!

Hi there Amy! Great question, and I'm happy to help. First, can you tell me a bit more about your project?
Hi there Alyssa. am interested in this thread.

Hi Alyssa! I am using SL 360.

Many thanks again Alyssa. The tutorial was really helpful. Again your team has helped me a great deal.

Awesome! Thank you for the help!
Thanks the tutorial was really helpful.
Yay! So happy I could help. 🎉
Hi All - I watched the tutorial and followed all of the steps exactly, but it isn't working for me! What am I missing?!
I am working with Storyline 2 with a rather large project - 14 questions scattered throughout to keep people engaged.
Hi Lindy! Happy to lend a hand.
When you click the Review Quiz button on the Results Slide, what happens? Do you get stuck at any point?
If you can tell me more about your set up, I'll try and create a sample file you can follow. 😁
Hi Alyssa,
Thanks so much for the quick response!

Hi Lindy!
Are all 100 slides in the same scene?

Hi Lindy!
You'll want to create a variable that tells Storyline to skip the content slides when the learner clicks the Retry button.
Check out this quick 5-minute video that explains how to set that up!
Hi Alyssa,
I have applied the steps in the video to the first two quiz questions and
the variable is not triggering the expected behavior. Can I share the file
with you privately so you can take a look?
Sure, Lindy! You can share it with me privately here. I'll take a look!
Hi Lindy,
I received your file! I'll take a look and send you an email within your case soon. 😁
