Returning to a slide

Feb 25, 2020

Hi. We have test questions. On each question page is a "get help" button.  I have it set 2 different ways - 1 - the "help page" plays and then sits there until the student clicks another button - "return to question" AND 2 - the "help page" plays and then automatically returns after a period of time - automatically, or if they click the "return to question" button.  PROBLEM - If the student wants to return to the "help page" a second time - he can't.  And even on the pages where there is no audio that plays - once he leaves the "help page" - he can't really return.  I want them to be able to click the "get help" button - go listen to/look at the "help page", click the button to return to the question page (or after a period of time elapses) - BUT be able to return to the "get help" page again if they need to.  It doesn't have to automatically play the audio the second time.  Can someone help me with how to set this up? We are using Articulate Storyline 3.

Hi Donna

why don't you lightbox the slide - it has a user control X to close the overlay and returns the user directly to where they accessed the lightbox from.

Here is a KB article that may help you:

Hi. Thanks for the idea. I tried it though and it still has the same problem.

I did find a solution though … turns out there is a setting for this in the layer options (little gear at bottom of layer options) on a slide – so that when revisiting a page – it resets to initial state.

Here’s a pic.

Thanks again for your help.
