Reverse Highlight box

Hi all!
As an intermittent user of Storyline, I'm struggling with finding the right solution to what I know I want to accomplish. I know how to make this happen in Captivate, but have spent a little too much time not finding the right combination in Storyline.
I'd like to shade the background of my slides AROUND the OUTSIDE of a highlight box, essentially creating a spotlight effect.
Any thoughts on how to accomplish that? I'm ready to do an "Of course! So easy!!" facepalm when the right answer appears, but for now, I'm doing a faceplant in frustration of not being able to accomplish something so seemingly simple.
Thanks in advance, friends!

Hi Doug,
I'm not certain I'm following how you'd like to update the colors, possibly could you share an image here to help the community offer advice? In the meantime, if you're looking to update colors within Storyline you'll find the player colors you can modify here or what colors you can modify by making a custom theme color set.
Hi Ashley!
Sorry I wasn't exactly eloquent in my request.
Essentially, what I'd like to do is something like this:
The image above is a screen capture of the Zoom Region selected in the Timeline, but the VISUAL is EXACTLY what I would like to replicate. When someone hovers or clicks over the Time Entry region in the image above, I'd like the rest of the screen to fade/shade darker, essentially creating a spotlight onscreen.
Hi Doug, this may help:

Hi Doug,
Thanks for the image. It looks like Duane has offered you a solution, and the other thought I had is what if you created a slide layer that included a semi transparent shape (set up with the cut out as above) so that it looks like it's being dimmed. You'll then be able to trigger that layer according to clicking on an object, at a particular point on the timeline(when an object appears offscreen), etc.
Duane and Ashley, thanks!
It seems to me that the best option to achieve the effect I'm looking for would be to:
1. Duplicate my base layer
2. Add a rectangle transparent fill in a layer over the base
3. Paste the section of the duplicated layer overtop that transparent fill.
Not ideal, but certainly functional. It's not the spotlight or highlight that I was hoping for, but it would create the same overall effect.
Thanks again to both of you for your help and guidance!
Doug,
See this thread. I show you a way to do it.
Thanks Brett for sharing another example here with Doug!
Doug/Ashley, love all the ideas, thanks.
Glad that this thread helped you out too Duane!
