Review function in Storyline 3

Nov 26, 2020

Hello everybody!

I have an issue with review function in Articulate 3. The point is, I want this review text box to be shown only in case  user selects the wrong answer. If the user selects correct answer, I want this text box to be hidden. Does anybody know how to make it? Thank you!

Hi, Vladislava,

You need to use variables and conditions to make that happen. The attached file shows how. Here's a quick summary:

  • The Review feedback is shown or hidden based on a variable that indicates whether a question was answered correctly.
  • That variable is set using the Correct and Incorrect feedback layers on the question.
  • However, the questions don’t actually show immediate feedback.
    • The Correct and Incorrect layers are blank. This is done by switching to a blank feedback layout, and then deleting all the existing objects.
    • The layers have triggers to set the variable.
    • They also have other triggers automatically hide the layer and advance to the next slide (just like the Continue button does in the typical Correct and Incorrect layers).
    • Note: I did it this way, because I assumed you weren't showing immediate feedback. However, if you are, then you can simply add the adjust-variable trigger to your existing Correct and Incorrect feedback layers. Be sure to put that variable first.

Variables and conditions provide the real power in Storyline. If you're not familiar with them, check out Articulate's User Guide:
