"Review Quiz" only shows red "incorrect" bar

Jun 28, 2017

I'm wondering why only the red "incorrect" bar shows when students click "Review Quiz" button.  This happens whether or not students answered correctly or not.  Everything else seems to work, but I don't know what settings dictate this behavior.  Any advice?  Thanks!

I've attached the short free-form quiz here.

Hi Michael!

Sorry to hear that you've run into difficulty with this.

I do appreciate you sharing your .story file for us to take a quick look and the good news is - it's an easy fix.

The issue you are seeing is due to the revisit property set on your slides:

If you change that to Automatically Decide or Resume Saved State, you will not see this issue when reviewing your slides.

Thanks for your quick response, Leslie.  I changed the properties to "Automatically Decide.  I also made sure the "Show the correct response when reviewing" box was checked.  This still didn't produce the semi-transparent red or green boxes with "Correct" or "Incorrect" on them to show users what they got during a review.  Here's a fresh, updated copy.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for sharing the file again Michael.

You sure did a lot of extra work by not utilizing the built-in feedback on your questions. That would have added all the triggers you needed.

You've done all the work though, so let's get you back to good.

It's the little things, like needing to hide the layer, so that Review works as intended as well :)

Yes, on every feedback layer:

Here is your updated file. Hope that helps :)

Yeah, as my father told me "I should work smarter, not harder." but when it comes to a complex authoring system like StoryLine, I guess I'm still learning the hard way!  ;-/

Thanks for straightening me out.  The choice of "hide this layer" isn't something I would have thought of, because why would they need to hide a layer that isn't going to show anyway when the Continue button is clicked to go to the next question . . . . unless it means during a review!

Thanks Leslie!
