Revisiting Slides Conundrum

Apr 26, 2018

Hi,

In Storyline 2, I have a quiz slide that allows users to retry the quiz a second time before being kicked out of the quiz and having to go through the lesson again. The quiz has several triggers that must work so that the information on the second try (should they need it) of the original attempt displays as designed. These triggers will not work if the slide is set to "reset" when revisited. So I have set it to "automatically decide" and it works great. However, if the learner does not pass the quiz after the second try of the initial attempt and comes back into the quiz after retaking the lesson, the choices previously made by the user are still there.  I understand why this is but I would like the quiz to have reset by that point.

My question is this: How can I keep the slide from resetting when the learner is on his or her second try in the original attempt at the quiz but then how can I  reset the quiz when the learner has been kicked out and comes back to the quiz anew, even if he or she does not exit the eLearning?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Matt

Hey Matt, that's a unique request! I haven't seen any examples that are similar to what you're describing, but we've got some Storyline wizards in this community who can help with this kind of custom design. What they can do with triggers and variables is pure magic!

Do you have a scaled-down sample you can share here? Just 2 or 3 quiz slides to show us what you've got set up so far would be great.
