Revisitng the Result Slide

Jun 02, 2014

Hi all,

This is more of a preemptive question. I have a covert Result Slide in my course that submits quiz results when the timeline starts on the slide. The user never sees these results, since the main point here is to report to the LMS that the course has been completed.

I haven't had any issues yet, but I want to ask: Am I setting myself up for trouble down the line if I have my course submit results every time the timeline starts on this slide?

All slides 'Reset to initial state.' Users can navigate back and forth from this Result Slide, so it is conceivable that they would "activate" it more than once, thus submitting their results more than once. Could this be a problem?

Will I have trouble down the line if we start actually grading the courses and showing those results to the users?

Tell me about your experiences!

Thank you--

Hi Belen,

The standard trigger on the "results slide" is to submit it when the timeline starts, so you should be ok to use that set up going forward. Also, most LMSs would consider a course to be in "review mode" once you've reached the completion point (visiting the results slide) so that the user could continue to navigate throughout the course without changing their results.
