I'm not sure how long this has been an issue, but neither my coworker nor I can get right-click triggers working in SL2. We've updated to the latest release, not sure if it happened at that point or earlier...
Is it just us? Help! I have a simulation that needs right-clicking to be accurate.
I found the support FAQ that states right-click may not be working in Flash output...
We have to zip our projects for upload to our LMS, is there a way to force that to open as HTML5? I understand you can open the story_html5 file, but our learners won't have that ability.
Glad that you were able to find that support article. I know within SCORM Cloud for example there isn't a way to force it to open the HTML5 output, but you could direct learners to disable Flash if that'll be a concern - or reach out to your LMS team to see if there is way to launch the HTML5 output.
The right click trigger is something we've shared with our QA team so that they'll be able to investigate it further. I don't have any additional information to share at this point, but we'll keep you posted here once there is an update.
Hi, Tracy -- As we typically don't recommend reverting to a prior update for a number of reasons, you may want to reach out to our Support Staff for further assistance using this form.
As an interim solution, there is a way to force HTML 5 but this involves fiddling with a bit of code.
Once you have zip'ed your package for uploading to the LMS, you have to edit the file called index_lms.html with a text editor, e.g., Notepad, Textpad or Wordpad. My suggestion would be to edit the file directly from your zip'ed package and save it straight back there.
Search for story.html and replace with story_html5.html
My apologies Christie! Have just updated the post - see I had the file names incorrect on the original post. Have just tested (the now updated) solution on out LMS and it work :D

Is this something that should be fixed in a future SL update?
I'm ready to be done with Flash as much as the next guy, but at the moment, this is a functionality we could really use. :(

Does anyone know of a work around other than the HTML5 output?
That isn't an option for us. :-(
Downgrade your articulate storyline, it still works with update 4. I had to do this to work on a project that utilizes the right-click trigger.
Thanks, Jackson, and when we have additional information, we'll share any updates here.
Thanks for the replies!! I appreciate it. Is there a link where I can download Update 4?

Save your changes and upload the .zip.
Have fun :D
Thanks so much for sharing your suggestion, Carin! I hope it is able to provide some assistance to others running into the same issue.
