S-O-S - only 1/4 of shapes appear in Slide Master template!

Apr 29, 2013

S-O-S -- The design I created in the Slide Master for use as templates has distorted all shapes to 1/4 of the shape, e.g, a circle will only display 1/4 (as the 15 minutes of a clock). I ungrouped shapes and tried filling the shape--no success.  I also tried creating new shapes. They all appear as 1/4 of the shape. Some of the slides in preview mode appear correctly but not all slides.  I am perplexed and and don't know what to do. I desparately need your help.

Hey Linda,

Can you please first make sure your machine's DPI is set o 96

You'll also want to be sure you're following some basic rules to prevent strange behavior:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Finally, if your Storyline software isn't working properly, a simple repair may fix the problem. If not, please feel free to submit a ticket to our support team for additional help.

Thanks, Linda!

Hi, Peter—

Thanks for the help. My system reset to 100% for DPI. I could not set 96%. But it’s all good because I can now see the slides I created so that I can continue to develop my course. That was the problem. The only distorted items remaining are in  Story View. But as long as I can see the full slide to edit and develop, I’m good. The preview function is fine, too. Thanks for the tips, too. Sometimes we forget those pointers. Way to be responsive. Articulate rocks! So do you, Peter.
