I created a branching scenario in SL2. Users go through it at the beginning of the course. Afterward, they go through a series of screens where they (hopefully) learn a couple things. Then I want them to have the opportunity to go through the branching scenario a second time.
My question is: on the final screens in the branching scenario (there are five possible versions user could land on), is there a way to show an “exit course” button and possibly a different text box, that does not show up the first time they go through the scenario?
At the end of each section you could set a variable, e.g. Section01Complete=true. You could then use a trigger to change the state of exit button to Normal when timeline starts if variable Section01Complete=true. The same concept applies to a textbox.
Thank you so much for your response. I'm trying your suggestion but something isn't working. If you're willing to help me out, I wonder if you can determine the problem. I am not a regular user of variables. I can always get them to work eventually, but they're not second nature to me (yet).
The problem is that the button remains hidden after I've visited screen 8.1
I've attached some screen prints, which show:
"Section complete" variable default is "false". If screen 8.1 is visited, then change the variable to "true".
Change the state of Button 1 from hidden to normal when variable "section complete" is "true"
It's hard to make a suggestion without seeing the actual file but the second screenshot doesn't look right. You should remove the condition SectionComplete=true from the trigger.

Do the screen shots look correct?
Gah!
Hi Bridget
hard to say without seeing your file but
Try changing this trigger to Change state of button 1 to normal when timeline starts on the slide on condition variable 'section complete' = true.

Thank you for your help. I've not yet figured out the problem, but I wanted to follow up with a word of appreciation for your suggestions.
