Saving and transferring video timing for playback

Aug 27, 2020

Good day!

Can you please tell me if articulate has tools for controlling and transmitting video timing? To be more specific, I have slide A and slide B. On the first slide, a video thumbnail starts when I click on an object (button). Slide B - is a fullscreen video mode (the video is stretched to fill the entire slide). I need that when the user presses the mode change button (fullscreen), the transition to slide B occurs, but with the preservation of the video time and the continuation of playback in full screen mode.

Thanks in advance!

There are triggers which would allow you to play videos on specific cues.

Here are sample triggers which you can use when you try to emulate what you imagine with a video playing in slide A to B.

Here's what I did on my end, I've imported a video which I will use as a thumbnail by simply resizing it,

Here, I decided to trim and mute the video so it does not play a sound during a preview.

If is even possible to use a built-in playback tool which can be seen in the video options while you have the object selected.

Here are the triggers I used so if I click on the thumbnail, it would lead me to the following slide and the video would play.

This is the outcome:

I would also suggest not having to resort to using two slides for this intention by using one slide and 2 layers to show the thumbnail as the base layer and the main video as the sub layer.

Here are the triggers I used for the base layer:

Layer 2 triggers:

You can also refer to this tutorial in incorporating videos into your project.

I hope this helps. Cheers!
