Saving in Storyline

Apr 17, 2013

Hi, I'm trying to save  a project created in Storyline on my C: drive and I'm getting an error that says the following:

"The project file could not be saved.  Access Denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80030005 (STG_E_ACCESSDENIED)))"

I confirmed with our Helpdesk that there are no issues on my end and have the ability to save work to my C: drive.

Any ideas on what's going on?

Hi Angela!

You mentioned that the course was created on your local drive, but has it been moved since its creation, by any chance?

1. Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.

2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).

3. Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

You may also want to try a quick repair if you continue having issues.

Let us know if it helps...

Thanks, Angela!
