Saving Progress on Storyline

Mar 10, 2021

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me - I am planning to create a progress bar in my Storyline file where users can see how much of the course they got left each time they return to the main menu screen. This seems to work if the user is planning on completing the entire course in one sitting but am dubious as to whether Storyline would remember their progress if a user leaves the course and returns a day / week or so later. Especially if their cache is cleared.

Does anyone know if this would be an issue or the best solution for this please? :)

Hi, Rebecca,

If a course is just hosted on a website, you can't be sure anyone will be able to resume the course where they left off.

That's just one reason courses are typically presented via a Learning Management System (LMS) or Learning Record Store (LRS). Storyline sends the appropriate suspend/resume data to the hosting LMS/LRS, and that allows the user to resume where they left off and to see their progress (assuming it was programmed to show that).
