Scene Number Label

Feb 25, 2021

Hello E-Learning Team,

I'm wondering if there is a way to change the scene labels?  I am aware of how to rename each scene/slide, but there is a designated number for every time a new scene is added.  For example, Scene 1 will be 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 ... labeled on the associated slides.  Is there a way to change the Scene "number" itself?  Instead of Scene 1, can it be changed to Scene "Introduction".   I've attached a screenshot as an example.

The numbering is giving me an issue when exporting quiz results via our LMS system.  The sequence is sorted by scene+slide numbers, which messes up the question number sequence.  E.g. It will sort the slide number by, "100, 101, 102, 103 ..." before "10, 11, 12", and the tenth will go before "1".  It's reading "1" plus zeros ahead of "1" itself.  So, I'm wondering if we can just get rid of the Scene label altogether and just rename to a sequence that would work for purpose like going "001, 002, 003, ..."?

Thank you!

Hi Rex,

It's possible to remove the scene numbering from the Menu in Storyline so that it doesn't appear in your published course menu, but there is no way to remove or rename how the scene numbers appear within Storyline.

This decimal system is set up by design to indicate the individual scene and the corresponding slides, and I don't believe there's a way to change that. Is it possible to break up the scenes so that you don't go beyond 100?

Hello everyone!

Good news! Today, we just released Storyline 360 Update 67 (Build 3.67.28569.0) which included a new feature where you can easily renumber scenes in story view so they appear in the order you want.

Now all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app!
