I know I can change slide numbering by dragging the slides around in a scene, but I cannot figure out how to change scene numbering without re-creating the scenes and moving slides within. Help! Or is this a limitation of Storyline?
Hi Kate you can change the starting scene from the green Flag in the Story View, at Home Tab. And you can arrange the Scenes By going into the one of the last slides of the first scene and set a trigger Jump to scene "X" (whatever you want) when the user clicks the next button

First off, I wanted to point to this helpful screenr from David Anderson on how slides/scenes are numbered:
If the numbers are off within your menu, you could either remove them or reset the menu from the story as shown below:
I do not see this button in my version of SL, where is the Reset from story button at?
In the player, under the menu.
