SCORM content marked complete on exit

Nov 12, 2018

We are having trouble with some of our SCORM 2004 v.4 content being marked complete on exit. A Knowledge base article in SAP SuccessFactors LMS indicates that for SCORM 2004 content the manifest file needs to specify that the content is in charge of completion (not the header navigation buttons). They note that if it is not specifically written into the manifest that the content is in charge of the item completion then the LMS will mark the item completed once the user exits the content.

They further note that "The sequencing of the content needs to be addressed by the content vendor."

Does anyone know where the XML code should be placed within the manifest file and/ or if there is a simpler way to do this?

Here is a link to the KBA: https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/public/en/2458835

Thanks so much,

Melanie

Hi, Melanie,

You shouldn't have to edit the XML code. I'm definitely not an LMS expert, but I'd guess you just need to determine what settings the course should use to report status to the LMS. This is done in the Reporting and Tracking Options window. Options include:

  • Passed/Incomplete
  • Passed/Failed
  • Completed/Incomplete
  • Completed/Failed

The one to use will depend on the LMS settings, so you have to figure it out with the LMS folks.
