I'm new to Storyline and wonder how I can export my course, for uploading onto OpenEdx. I understand that Open Edx seems to take tar.gz files. May I know what format I should export the Storyline course into please? SCORM 1.2, Tin Can API, etc?
While I am not familiar with the Open edX platform, it might be best to check with them to see which publishing format would work best. In case this helps though, here is a resource that shares the different publishing options Storyline has:
Thank you, Vincent! I've managed to use scormblock on OpenEdx to upload scorm zip files.
However, I'm running into difficulties at times; getting error messages on the LMS platform.
I followed the advice on the various forums/ threads and used a Scorm Cloud to test out my files.
Is there any way you can lend some insight into why my first file (Module 1 Section 1.zip) failed to load onto LMS, but tested well on a Scorm cloud server - and if I export it (JurisprudenceM1S1.zip) from the Scorm cloud server - then is able to display well onto LMS? I'm wondering if:
i) I'm making some mistakes on Storyline, when I set certain course options/ menu options
ii) the Scorm Cloud does anything/ repackages the scorm file?
The two zip files are the same, but yet one cannot be loaded onto Open Edx. I've also shared a .story file here!
I am sorry to hear about the roadblocks you are hitting!
May I ask if you could share what steps you are taking to publish your files from Storyline? This would help determine what is could be causing this snag. Do you recall which outputs were selected for your files when publishing (SCORM 1.2, 2004, etc.)?
At the moment, if your files are uploading and launching properly in SCORM Cloud, this may indicate that there is an issue on the LMS side.
Please keep us posted and let us know if you have any questions!

Hi Myroslava!
It sounds there is an issue with how the course is displaying in your LMS, which in this case is Edx.
If it looks right in Storyline, then it is probably an issue with the way it was imported to your LMS.
Are you able to test your course in SCORM Cloud?
Keep me posted on how this works.

I did come across this thread and resource that may help here as well. The help guide discusses how to get SCORM content into Open Edx:
I hope that others with more experience with Open edX can share what has worked for them as well!
Thank you, Vincent!
