SCORM not marked as Completed (it used to ...)

May 07, 2014

Dear All,

I am having the following problem. I have a course that I publish to SCORM and it used to a) remember where the student left early, so next login it would send the student back to the slide where it left and b) mark as completed when 100% of the slides were viewed. My current LMS is DOCEBO SaaS version.

I've checked with DOCEBO support and apparently they have been able to track that the issue is not on the LMS, it is something in the SCORM.

How do you debug this? I have no idea. is there any parameter that needs to be checked manually within the files on the ZIP file?

I am getting this behaviour compiling both as SCORM 1.2 and as 2004 r3. That same file in earlier incarnations of the Storyline file did worked OK when published. The only thing we can recall we touched was that at some point we moved all the slides to 'not remembering when re-visited' and then we move them back to have Storyline decide, as it was before. Just for reference, this was done originally to do some testing regardint the 'replay' button not working.

But anyway, we changed back to let Storyline decide.

I dont know if both topics are related, but now every time we go into the LMS with the same user the course woule re-set and start over from the begining. Before, it used to store (bookmark) where it had been and the student would go back directly  to the slide where he left in the previous sesion.

Again, I dont know if both things are related, but I comment it anyway.

My problem with this situation is that I have a Final quiz in DOCEBO that has the SCORM as pre-requisite, so the quiz is locked until the SCORM is completed, and now we can not finalize the SCORM ever, we have ran through the 265 pages several times and make sure every single slide is seen, and the SCORM does not report completion.

Anyone can help?

Best Regards,

Otto

Hi Otto,

Sorry to hear about the trouble.

I'm curious, have you tried testing the course outside of DOCEBO? If not, I recommend testing your course in SCORM Cloud.

If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. I would share a link to the course that's been uploaded to SCORM Cloud with them, so they can see the functionality on that server.

The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

If you see the same behavior, it might be best to take a look at the .story file. However, it sounds like your project might be quite large from your description. Is that the case? If so, you may not be able to share the file here on the forums. If the file's too large, or you'd like to keep it private, just let me know. I can share details on sending the file to me privately for testing.

Thanks!

Hi Christine,

Thank you for your answer and sorry for the late response. I went into scorm cloud and opened up an account. Uploaded the scorm object and pass through every slide. I thought I would get a 'completed' report but I did not. the course is narrated (w/audio narration accompaining the visuals) and we pass through every single slide.... I got a 0% completion....

See attached screen capture:

Also, please check the activity log I got from the 4 hrs of course from the word doc.

My Storyline file and the corresponding SCORM can be downloaded from my MS OneDrive. Let me know if you could take a look at it and I will PM the link.

Hope you can help me. I am lost - I've tried everyting and I guess maybe it should not be something that hard, but I am unable to find it.
