SCORM Package Not Displaying Properly in Moodle

Jul 15, 2015

Hi Everyone

We have a Storyline that is not behaving and we wondering if anybody can help.

We have used the same file before and had no issues, but for some reason this one won't display properly/play. When it is is launched in Moodle to "Open in a New Window" this is what it looks like:

We have added other Articulate SCORM packages to the same course in Moodle with exactly the same settings and they are working perfectly.

Any ideas?

thank you

I'd guess that some form of JavaScript error is occuring on the page which is then preventing the SCORM package from loading in Moodle.

Make sure you are using a recent stable supported version of Moodle and then you could also ask for help in the Moodle community forums - take a look here for the information you should provide:

We have had the same issue. Is some able to offer more information in regards to this issue. We are new to articulate and its use within Moodle but are familiar with SCORM and Tincan.

The project has been constructed in Storyline 2 and we are using Moodle 2.8.3

The skin I am using is built into AS.

We have published the project under LMS>SCORM 1.2 and imported it into Moodle as a SCORM package.

BTW - I did read in one of the forums that apple devices required the project to be published using tincan for the content t be viewable across this products devices i.e. ipads, iphones. If this is not the case - would someone mind clarifying.

Any assistance or guidance will be much appreciated.

Hi Vee,

If you need to access the course on an Apple device such as the iPad and you'll be using the Mobile Player in conjunction with your LMS, you may need to publish for Tin Can API but I don't believe Moodle supports it. If that's the case you'll want to not include the mobile player as an option, but just allow the users to access it in HTML5 output.

Did you test this same set up in SCORM Cloud as mentioned here? If it works there you'll want to reach out to your Moodle team and see if they have additional thoughts on how to modify this.
