SCORM Reporting Functionality with Cornerstone

Mar 26, 2013

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening,

We are attempting to move from our existing certification testing platform to Articulate Storyline (we've been using Storyline for eLearning so far with just a "complete" status being reported. When I created the larger sample test and packaged it for our LMS (Cornerstone) using passed/failed, we get only the final score reported. The test still says "In Progress" even when it has been completed. Also,  I am referencing a results slide with the results from test sections with an overall score but only the final result gets sent to Cornerstone.

In Articulate Storyline is there a documented way to report multiple quiz results to the LMS AND have it register "complete" when the test is done? There are many references to this situation on the threads, but I can't seem to find a solution. If it requires fiddling with a .js file I'm fine with that, but if it is a problematic undertaking I'd like to get an indication so we can move in another direction for now.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Welcome to the community, Thomas!

Storyline doesn't support tracking multiple SCOs in one course, as you know, but we've listed a few unsupported workarounds here. Is that what you're referring to in your post?

Additionally, Storyline automatically creates four number variables for each result slide in your course to track points and scores. And, since you can display the value of any variable anywhere in your course using variable text references, you can use a single result slide to display the results for multiple quizzes at the same time. Here's how to do that, if you think it may be helpful.

And as for accurate LMS reporting, it's always a good idea to try testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help determine if any issues are Articulate-related or if it's on your LMS's side. If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Hope that information helps, Thomas. Let us know...

Thanks!
