Screen cast Printscreen keyboard shortcut

Apr 17, 2014

I recently found a PDF of SL keyboard shortcuts to 'Take a screenshot' use the PrintScreen keyboard button during a screen cast.  I am familiar with that function using Captivate. Can someone provide more information and how it is used and how to edit in SL?  thanks in advance.

Hi Diana,

You'll see when you start a screen recording that there are some screen recording options you can use such as the print screen included below:

You can use these fields to assign keyboard shortcuts that you can use to stop or pause/resume your recording, or to take a screenshot, so it doesn't need to be the normal PrintScreen button if you'd prefer to use something else. To update it, place your cursor in each field and press the desired key. The field will update accordingly, depending on the key you press.

The Print Screen functionality with the screen recording will essentially insert a new slide with that image in the Step-by-step modes, but it won't be seen if you insert the recordings as video on a single slide. If you need to export a single image, you may wan to use the method described here.
