Screen order when publishing in Word

May 23, 2013

I am using Storyline to storyboard my course. Therefore I am not necessarily creating screens in the order in which they will appear in the finished course. The screens are automatically numbered by Storyline when I create them and when I publish to Word, the screens are in the numbered order rather than the order they have been set to appear in the course (through triggers).

I would like to provide my client with the Word version so they can edit the content and provide feedback so it is important that the Word file show the screens in order. If it was a small course, I could just manually reorder but this is 67 screens in one scene.

Any way to set it to publish to Word in any way other than numerically?

Thanks,

Debra

Welcome to the community, Debra!

Unfortunately, there isn't another built-in method for ordering the scenes specifically for Word output.

However, you could try to reorder the scenes or slides using the technique David demonstrates here,

Here's the video:

You could arrange the scenes or slides using this method and then export to Word. I'm not sure if this would save you more time, versus rearranging the slides in the Word document itself, but it may make it a little easier.

And feel free to add a feature request if you'd like to see more options for publishing to Word.

Thanks and welcome again, Debra!
