Screen Record *Becomes* Blurry
Aug 09, 2019
Hi all, would appreciate any advice.
When a colleague screen records in Storyline 360, the recordings themselves are crisp. She's using the same settings I've used and the same templates. Different computer, but comparable.
We do a build. When we play the content, after a few seconds, the screen record suddenly becomes 'out of focus' (comparable to focusing a camera then moving it an inch). It sometimes moves back into focus for a bit, then shifts back out of focus. Tried on multiple machines and monitors with same results.
Has anyone seen this before? Lots of experience here creating sharp screen records over the years. Created plenty of blurry videos and fixed them, but never one that *goes* blurry. This is a new one on me.
Once I'm back at my desk in a bit, I'll upload a link to a sample.

Good morning, Michael!
Sorry to hear you're facing this problem, and I'm glad you reach out for help. I see you're already knee-deep in troubleshooting with Renato on our Support team to see if we can determine why the recordings suddenly become fuzzy.
While he carefully analyzes our next steps, I wanted to share these techniques for recording high-resolution screencasts just in case they may help. 🤞
Thanks for working with us, and I'll follow along in your case!
Thanks Katie.
The recordings are indeed high res. The issue is that it goes blurry for no apparent reason during playback.
Thanks for continuing to reach out, Michael!
This is a tough one, but I do not doubt that you're in skilled hands. I see Renato is ready to dig into your .story file. Here's the unique upload link from your case to send it privately.
We'll figure this sudden blur oddity out together, and I'll continue to follow along!
Hello! I'm having the same issue. Is there any fix? Also, how can I contact technical support?
Thanks!
Hi Lina and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
I see that you were able to contact the support team as well and Ronaziel is currently working with you.
Any fix for this available to the public? Same issue here. It becomes blurry in playback at frequent periods throughout.
Hi Kenna,
Thanks for reaching out! Troubleshooting this issue can sometimes take some digging into the details, which is why both the other community members had cases opened with our support engineers.
If you'd like a hand, feel free to share your file with us, and we'll do some testing to see if we can help.
