Screen record video is choppy
Aug 08, 2012
I am using the screen record function to record a video. The resulting video is choppy as if the frame rate was low. The audio with it sounds fine and normal but the video is consistent with it being choppy. Is there a frame rate setting somewhere could it be my computer causing this? I am using a computer with Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 with 4GB of memory if any of that matters. Anyone else having this issue. My coworker recorded the same video and it turned out fine.

Hey David,
Mind opening a ticket on this one? Our support staff may ask to see your project file, which you can attach on the second page of the case submission link. Thanks!
I submitted a case. Tried again today after the update, just in case, and it is still recording choppy.

Thanks, David. Looks like Vira took the case and you should be hearing from her shortly.
What was the resolution on this?
Hi Jodi,
This discussion is quite a bit older, and it looks like David was using Storyline 1 and attempting to screen record other videos that were HD. Our team suggested resizing the video, preferably in standard 720x540 pixel dimension before capturing it. When they did this they noticed a big difference in playback speed.
Since this was for a much older version of Storyline, I imagine you may not be running into the same thing, if you're able to share some more details we can troubleshoot your issue further!
