Screen recording copy/paste or import

Jul 30, 2013

Hi,

Currently, I have 4 Projects in Articulate Storyline.

There are containing fast only screen recording files and my client would like that I make 1 big file with my 4 files. I have the issue that when I am copy/paste some projects or Import this files as template to produce this file, my Scene are complete destroy. Have you any idea to help me ? I hope I don't must restart my Project.

Hi Emilie,

I'm  not clear on what's happening with your import in terms of destroying your scenes. When you choose Import ->Storyline files, do you select "Insert into scene: new scene" ? That should prevent new files from changing anything in existing scenes. If this doesn't help, let me know a bit more about what is happening and if you want to share your file here or submit a Support case we can take a look at specifically what is happening.

Hi Asheley,

I have already a storyline file "sich neues Begriff einprägen" and three others similars files ( screen recording files ) and I would like import this file in my new Project "demo". So I click on new Scene, new slide, Import storyline, and I choice the right file. When I check the file, this new Scene is not good because all object and caption are  moved and the slides havent got the same size.

Hi Emilie,

Thanks for sharing your files. The reason that they are appearing differently is the first file (sich neue begriffe einpragenv1.1story) has a Story size that is set to Custom dimensions. When you go to insert it into your new Project "demo" that file has the standard Story Size set. To make it so that there won't be any changes to the first file, you'll need to make the Story size consistent across all files that you'd like to insert into the same file.

To update the Story size, you'll go to the "Design" tab, and on the far left you'll see a button for "Story size" below is an image of what the default size is.

Hope that helps, and if you need anything else, please let us know!
