I continue to get "Press R Shift Key" in my screen recordings (prompts), when what I actually did and want the prompt to say/have the user do is press the Tab key to move to the next field.
How can I fix this without overhauling the whole thing?
I just tried recording a screen, and was able to press the Tab key and have that included as a part of the recording and it appeared in the hint caption as well. If it seems that Storyline is behaving oddly, I'd check the following items first:
Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.
Also, you can update what the items say as the Hint caption all are created as a layer, and the "Tab" key will be created as a Shortcut Key quiz item, which you can also edit.
The problem appears to be an accessibility setting, from the research that I have found.
Also, how about the text entry field for a password? Is there a way to make the characters appear as dots (i.e., the actual entered characters do not appear -- dots appear in their place for security purposes), as it does within the actual software that I am documenting? I have not found anything yet that works. :-(

Next, is this happening in only one file? If so, I'd try importing that into a new Storyline file. If it's happening in every file, you may want to conduct a repair of Storyline.
