Screen recording in fast forward

Jan 22, 2013

Hi there! I'am having an issue when i want to add a slide with screen recording in Storyline. I record it as i did yestarday and it worked, but today it gets in fast forward both image and sound.

I haven't changed any of the settings.

Do you have any idea what that could be?

Thank you in advance!!

Exactly even if it wasn't what I expected to read...

I didn't find any option for the screen recording... but it must have a solution .... I don't know if it will change anything but have you try to make your screen recording longer on the timeline ?

Second question (call me Columbo), when you go to your 'insert Record Screen', choose your screen records, and choose video on a single slide, does it play in fast forward too ?

If I have good memory, the video format build with the Screencast is MP4's format. Right ?

So a video format, like any other... And something has to be wrong if you have the problem ...

but what ?

I start lacking of idea to help you...

Another simple question, are you sure not to have modify any option in your computer, with another software maybe, you or another colleague maybe? Maybe a very simple thing. . .

I may be wrong but I think it is "just" a bug (I understand for you it is not just a bug).

Try to submit a case. In one hour or two US people will be here to help !

Sorry not to have help you more...

Last idea (it works very few but it may helps) : try to stop your computer, wait for about 15 minutes (in order to empty the memory of your computer), and restart it. Maybe it will help...

Keep me informed !

Hi Anthi!

I wasn't able to find a support case for this issue. Were you able to submit one? If so, can you share the case number with me so I can take a look?

Also, just want to mention this in case you haven't checked this; try to make sure that you're working with projects that are on your local hard drive. If you try to edit, or add a recording to a file that's on a network drive, USB drive, or any other external source, you may run into issues.

Are you able to create a new project, insert a screen recording and share the project's .STORY file here, so I can take a look? You won't need to publish the file, just save it. Then, attach it to this thread by clicking on the paperclip icon in your response. If your project's name is "TestProject", the file name will be "TextProject.story". Let me know if you need any help with this.

Thanks!
