(newbie here) Have created quite a few screencasts, inserted them as stand-alone videos. They look ok (more or less) in storyline, but when I publish them, the come out very very blurry. I reinstalled Storyline to see if that would help, and it didn't. It also may have coincided with loading Replay on, but I can't say that with any degree of certainty.
Please help, because nothing I record now is clear like it was at the beginning.
Also as a last resort - I've found that screen recordings done using Articulate Replay turn out higher quality than most when published but that would mean a lot of rework for you
Thank you, but do you have any idea what would account for one screen recording looking great, and the next one looking blurry? Same size recording, different days. Same storyline file they both sit in...
Sorry, I don't know why some recordings are ok and others aren't (maybe someone could shed some light on this)- I'm dealing with a similar issue at the moment where some videos look ok and others are painfully poor quality.
Bear in mind that Replay is quite basic in it's recording and editing capabilities, however the screen records I had that were terrible looked much better when I re-recorded using replay.
Have you changed the recording size to be different than your Story size, as that could cause some blurriness once inserted into your project. If you have one to share that you've recorded in the same way (story size, screen size, etc.) we're happy to take a look and see if there is any other advice we can offer. Replay is cool in how you can mix tracks and add additional features like the lower third. It will not give you the same functionality in terms of inserting a screen recording in Try it/Test mode like screen recording with Storyline.
I've started using Replay for some Vlogs I'm producing. I love the easy interface and integration with the webcam. Not to mention its free so how can I complain? I was amazed at the poor quality however that I got from my webcam after rendering the video. I tried inserting video from my camcorder and it also was quite poor after being rendered to MP4. Is there really no control over the MP4 render quality? And it was also confirmed recently that Replay has no edit capabilities. I think I will need to use another video editing program until Replay is ready for primetime.
Thanks for hearing the vent, just wanted some feedback incase I'm off on my assessment.
Replay is still a new product for us, so we'd definitely welcome your ideas and suggestions for ways to improve it. You can always submit those thoughts to our team through the form of a feature request (for any Articulate products, not just Replay).
You're not off based either, there currently isn't the functionality to change the publish quality or do any editing beyond what is described here.

Hi
This is a little bit of an issue with storyline but there are some things you can try to improve video quality.
1- ensure your videos are MP4s when you insert them
2- alter the video quality in the 'publish' settings (pic below)
Hope this helps

Sorry - I started my prior reply, and then missed your second reply. So Replay is a better screen recorder then? Good to know - anyone else concur?
