Screen Recording not full screen

Feb 27, 2017

We are recording a software screen recording at full screen (1080p) setting and are publishing with max quality video and image quality.  This is not for final output in Storyline course.  We will grab the video and edit further in Adobe Premier.  It must be full HD quality (1920 x 1080)

Out output is NOT full screen.  There is a significant black border on all 4 sides of the output image when played in Media Player.  What can we be doing wrong?

Hi Russ,

Is it not recording the entire screen or what you're seeing is not displaying at full screen? I did a quick test in Storyline 2 just recording my entire screen desktop and in Storyline 2 that displayed normally and took up the entire slide with no black bars. I also exported the video out and played it within Windows Media player, and I saw the black bars initially on the top and bottom, but if I shrunk the overall Media player window they disappeared. I also wanted to point out that since Storyline will publish a collection of files, not just a single MP4 file so you may want to look at the options here to export the media from the screen recording, as that is what I went through in my description above.
