I am working on a project with another team member. I have a much larger laptop with a higher screen resolution and different display settings as a result. My browser scales differently than theirs. The issue is the screen recording size. My team member says this shouldn't be an issue, that no matter the laptop or computer screen size, there is no impact. Am I crazy? When my team member captures using record screen it is a different size.
It depends on how you create the screen recording. If you are recording full screen then they will be different. If you specify the pixel size of the recording then it doesn't matter what type of screen you have. They'll be the same.
I am recording at the Story size of 1244 x 700. When I recorded on my last laptop which was smaller, the browser screen was much bigger. This laptop scales based on the operating system and the high definition screen. I hope that makes sense.
I saved a picture that is 1244 x 700 and aligned Internet Explorer with it. Then I selected Record Screen in Storyline 1244 x 700 is much larger than a 1244 x 700 screenshot or picture. See example.

Hello Stephanie,
You're right. It can make a difference.
We recommend that your story size and your target screen resolution recording be the same for optimal performance.

Figured it out. I matched the display settings of the other laptop and everything is working perfectly now. Lesson learned!
