The only suggestion I can offer to improve the clarity of screen recordings is to change your display's setting as small as possible prior to recording. For example, you're going to get a much clearer recording if you capture at, say, 1024x768 than you will if you capture at 1600x1200 because the recording will not have to be scaled down as dramatically. (I'm assuming your Storyline slide area is set to the default of 720x540.)
In Storyline's Publish window, there is a setting at the bottom called "Quality". Be sure the video and image quality settings are bumped up pretty high.
I'm trying to get it to fill the slide. When the record screen comes the 720x540 window is too small so i drag it out by the corner to fit the window. To be honest i've tried nearly all the record window sizes, all terrible
I'm still not clear on the dimensions of the area you're capturing...are you capturing just a 720x540 area, or is it much larger? (When you set up your screen recording area, you'll see the dimensions of the area your capturing.)

Hi Howie,
On the Home tab, select Player.
In the Custom menu select Other.
The two settings you want can be made in the two Browser Settings dropdowns.
Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I'm able to set that but when i publish it the recording is quite blurry

No. Still no luck. Screen is clear as a bell when i record it. Absolutely awful when i publish
What are the dimensions of the screen area you are capturing?
Also, are you using the default 720x540 story size?

Are you talking about the dimensions on the screen recorder or the slide?
The slide is set to default and the recorder is set to default however i have to drag it out to fit the webpage into the recording space.
I've tried many recorder sizes, all give an awful resolution.
I'm referring to the recorder size. Have you tried capturing an area 720x540 or less? Does it still look awful?
