Hi Gillian - That's an interesting request. Currently, the record button is fixed at the bottom. Just curious, but why are you interested in moving it? You can submit a feature request for options to move the record button.
I was trying to record a few snippets from a YouTube that was a news broadcast and I also wanted to make a brief recording from a NASA video. I don't want to link to the whole video ... I just want a snippet to embed directly into my course.
I found that the SCREENR record button is always right on top of the "play" button... so I can't start the video underneath.
The record button should automatically reposition based on its proximity to the Task Bar or the top of your display. There isn't a way to manually move it, but it should auto-detect the edges of screen display (top and bottom) and adjust its position.
Have you tried recording in full screen mode? That would hide the recorder and you could use keyboard shortcuts Ctrl-D to start, stop and end the recording.
