After I record whether I insert as a video or step-by-step the screens appear small and blurry. There are a lot of data entry fields on the web pages that I am capturing. I usually use captivate to take screenshots and don't have this problem.
You could insert a zoom region or multiple zoom regions for each slide, highlighting the parts you want the user to concentrate on. This will allow the words to be more easily viewed. I created a Screenr video showing how to add a zoom region to a slide as well as changing the properties of the zoom region to suit your needs.
I've had to do zoom regions on almost all of my screen captures or the learner can't see what they are looking at--the other option is to reduce the size of your recording, but in most cases that isn't ideal!

Yeah in the video I did above, I mentioned that zoom regions would work but that like the example I used, if you zoom in you are better able to read the words, but they are still grainy or blurry if you will. The better the quality of the image or video you are zooming in on, the better the zoom region will work.
All that usually means is that the more pixels your source has, the better.
