Scroll bar Issue

May 16, 2014

Hi team,

We developed a course using story line and recently we have added glossary in the course which comes in a pop-up and require scroll to see all the text. It is working fine when we checked the course on Desktop with flash installed however the text cannot be seen on I-Pad though we can see the scroll if we tap on the screen.

Please can you help on this?

Hi Palka,

I'm sorry to hear about the behavior you're having with your scrolling panel in the iPad. Are you able to share the .story file with us? I'd like to take a look as there is currently a known issue where scrolling panels with a large amount of text are not functioning correctly when viewed on the iPad. I'd like to share another example with our Quality Assurance team who is reviewing this issue.

Hi Ashley,

Thanks for the information. I won't be able to share the story file due to some restrictions but what you mentioned in your comment is correct. We tried solving the issue by deleting the major chunk and just keeping the few and it is now working fine. I can now see the text on I-Pad. But is there a solution to the problem because we have a large amount of text that needs to go under glossary terms.

Hi Palka,

Thanks for confirming that it's the same issue. Our team is investigating it now, and I'll let them know that we have another user experiencing the problem. I don't have a time frame to offer in regards to when I'll hear from our QA team about a fix, so in the meantime I'd use the work around of using a smaller amount of text and possibly placing the individual sections on layers or their own slides.

Hi Palka,

It would depend on the overall text for each letter - but I'd try to break it down into smaller chunks. I don't have a definitive amount of text that allows it to work as expected, but since you were able to pair down the text and then see it within the HTML5 set up - I'd use that as your guide for word/character count.
