Scroll Panes

Jun 18, 2013

I have made a module with scrolling panes that appear in pop-ups.

I recently had to upgrade from V1 of Storyline to V3 because I needed to use a top menu (instead of the side menu), and there is a bug in V1 where you cannot scroll the tab on iPad (HTML5).

Consequently, I upgraded to v3 on one of my computers. I re-exported the program, but now the scroll panes are not working on random pages when viewed on the iPad. The scroll pane pop-ups are all the same (copied from one another), and then I just swapped out an image.

Has anyone seen this before? Could there be an issue because these were made in v1? Alternatively, is there some way to just export it in v1 and then just alter something one of the external files in the 'mobile' folder that is created?

Hi Chris,

What you could do is try importing the project into a new, blank Storyline file using version 3. Now, I'm not sure this will resolve the issues, but it may be a quick way to get the file to work properly.

If you need information on how to import an existing project into a new one, take a look at the following tutorial:

Importing from Another Storyline Project

If the problem continues, are you able to share the .STORY file here or send it to us privately?

Thanks Chris!

So far I have tried:

1. Redoing the scroll pane on a few slides in the new module.

2. Making sure the scroll pane is the top layer

3. I've imported the original storyline file into a new file in v3.

All have produced the same result which is that the scroll bar does not function on iPad.

My ipad is running ioS 6.1.3, although I've tried it on a few others as well.

Hi there Chris,

Thanks for the additional information. I was able to find the support case submitted for this issue (#00340421 for my reference) and it looks like our support team is currently testing the file. You should receive a response soon.

I'll also follow along with the case progress and try to keep in touch with you here on the forums.

Thanks!

Good morning Chris!

I was checking in on your case this morning and I was pleased to see that the issue has been resolved.

Looks like you were able to resolve this with the same method John discovered while testing the course.

If you have any other trouble with this, please just let us know.

Thanks and have a great day! :)
