Scrolling on ipad

May 01, 2016

Hi,

I know this topic has been covered before but I'm still having the same issue. I've created a storyline project and published to D2L as a scorm package.

The content loads fine and when I'm accessing on a PC there are no issues and the 2 scroll panels within the project display and work correctly.

When I try to access using an ipad the scroll panels don't show and I can't scroll at all. I've tried using the 2 finger scroll described in previous posts but am having no luck. Does anyone have any advice on how to solve this issue?

Thanks

Hi Sean!

You should be utilizing the one-finger scroll.

When viewing Articulate Storyline 2 output on a touchscreen device (iPad, iPhone, Android, etc.), use one finger to scroll through content in scrolling panels.

In HTML5 output, you can scroll anywhere in the scrolling panel. You don't necessarily have to use the scroll bar. (Mobile Safari doesn't show scroll bars until you begin scrolling.)

In the Articulate Mobile Player app, you must use the scroll bar to navigate through scrolling panels.

Hi Leslie,

I have faced the same problem, scrolling of text is not working in the html5 output. I think this bug still remain in html 5 output of storyline 2.  let me discuss you how this come?

if a developer has a text in layer with scroll pane and select the checkmark in option Prevent the user from clicking on the base layer of Slide Layer Properties and then published the course in html 5

for reference please go through the story file.

Hi Ravindra,

I see one issue related to Storyline 2 and very specific to a scrolling panel on a layer not working as expected when viewing the HTML5 output and when viewing on an iPad. Is that the issue you are experiencing as well?

If so, remove the check on the following from the layer properties:

  • "Hide objects on base layer"
  • "Prevent the user from clicking on the base layer"

If not, this thread is a bit dated, so I'd like to start anew with you here if that's okay.

  • What version of Storyline are you currently using?
  • Can you describe the scrolling issue that you're having on your iPad?

If you have a sample .story file for us to take a look at, that'd be very helpful.
