I am needing to blur client information in the view, try, test videos in Storyline 360. Can I edit the actual video? Does it work to add a cover box on each slide? (very time consuming)
There isn't currently an option to blur parts of the screen recording. Instead, you're on the right track to use shapes to cover private information on each slide.
If the information is truly private, I would recommend editing the video so the blur is actually part of the video. If you cover the video with shapes in Storyline, the unblurred video still exists in the published output and can been seen by someone that really wants to.
