"Select a window" functionality with Firefox
Jul 25, 2012
My team uses Storyline to create simulations for a web application. Unfortunately we are required to use only Firefox while recording the simulations.
When using the handy "Select a window" function to record Firefox, it only acknowledges one selection, which is the entire browser window, including the toolbars, menu, and browser frame. (see image below)
Mozilla Firefox:
Chrome and IE, on the other hand, allow us to select either the entire window OR only the viewport (inside window) of the browser.
Google Chrome:
For now, we are manually sizing the recording frame to capture only the inner window, but if there is a way to use the "Select a window" option to accomplish that with Firefox, it would greatly improve the efficiency of our process. I realize it may simply be a difference in how the browsers are built or how Storyline recognizes a "window". But any suggestions or input would be great! Thanks.

Hi Dan,
I don't know of anyway to make that happen as it does in Chrome and IE. I am posting here primarily to move this to the front so that someone else might see it, particularly a staff member from Articulate.
You might think about submitting a support case.
Always Happy to Help,
Adrian
Thanks Adrian, I appreciate the reply. I will submit a support case for this.
