Select (hand) symbol not showing on top half of boxes

Hi All - it's been a while since I've been in SL but I'm having problems with the little hand symbol that tells the user that an item is selectable. I've attached an example, and I hope the problem will replicate. On the bottom four thumbnail pics, if you click the second picture, a layer opens with that images info. However, if you pass your cursor over thumbnail pics 3 & 4, I'm only getting the "hand" symbol for about the bottom half of the thumbnail. It only seems to be happening on the layer that thumbnail pic 2 goes to. What am I missing? Thanks!
edit: Still in SL 1, Update 8, if that makes a difference. :)

Hi Laura,
I have played with this for a while, the only thing I have found is that if you move the pictures to a different location the issue goes away. This is very perplexing. I will work on it some more.
Laura,
Ok so it looks like the scroll thing you have set up on slide two is actually causing the issue. If move the box that it is in up then the issue goes away, however this messes with your formatting on the layer. I hope this helps.
I wondered if that had something to do with it, but then I think I have other instances where it doesn't seem to affect it. I will work on a work-around. Thanks very much!
Let me know what you come up with. Good luck!
Hi, Laura -- Looks like Joe's suggestion might do the trick, but please feel free to let us know if you should need further assistance. :)
