Selecting a button shouldn't be this hard !

(It's probably not). It's most likely me, but I can't figure out. Can anyone tell me why I cannot select a custom button in the same way I can a standard storyline button? See image / attached file.
I can't click on a custom button to select it to change properties, add triggers, etc. I can select it in the timeline, but I don't get the selection / resize box as with a standard button.
This is the start of a bigger problem, but if I can figure this part out, maybe the next step will come.
Thanks for any suggestions.

HI Colleen,
This Button is on your master slide view and is locked to Edit it or move it you have go to the master view
Thanks, Rehan.
I see where you're going, but, for argument's sake, I deleted all other layouts, but still have the same issue. I'm attaching the updated file. Do you have a sec to take another look?
Thanks! Colleen
This is happening because you have used a button and either deleted the object or set it to no fill no stroke (TBH I cannot see how you have achieved this).
You would have been much better importing your picture and the creating states for it.
Hi there Phil - Thanks. Yes, that was my first thought, too. But, when I used a picture object with states as my "button", I got the same result.
Let me start from scratch with a new picture... thanks for the help.
