Selecting a different master slide layout

May 28, 2015

Hi Storyline Gurus!

I have imported some custom slides into my Storyline project, but when I create a new slide, it always selects the title slide.

I can't seem to figure out how to designate a default slide. It's probably something simple, but I can't find any answers on the site, either.

Thanks!

Vickie

Thank you, Parashuram,

I was referring to the background design, not the layout design. Sorry if I have caused confusion.

My title page background has a bunch of images on it. I want the slide that is designed as blank in the middle. It always chooses the Title designed slide when I select any new slide. I would like it to choose the blank slide.

Hope I'm clearer now.

Thanks,

Victoria

Hi Victoria,

There won't be a way to apply a specific background unless it's set up as a master slide option and than you can select the layout as Parashuram showed. If you've set up some backgrounds you can apply them as described here after adding in the slides.

You may also want to look at utilizing themes in your course, as they'll encompass a number of the elements such as backgrounds, slide masters, etc.

Hi Victoria,

There is a master slide for questions - and that should be what is utilized if you are inserting a built in question type. Here is more information about using the master slides - and if you want them to have separate backgrounds, you'd need to set up a different group of masters, but only the initial master set will be applied automatically.
