"selector" or "indicator" graphic

On Nov 9, Articulate's email was on making a course feel like an app. In the video, a graphic was used that was referred to both as an "indicator" graphic and as a "selector" graphic. It was mostly transparent and made the "navigation bar" look as though a particular app was being selected. I have tried, with little success, to make this graphic, using gradients and transparency. Unfortunately, I can't make it look quite right. Does anyone know how to either make this graphic or find one similar to it?

Hi Toni,
Programs like Photoshop make creating those semi-transparent graphics really easy. But a few minutes in Storyline can yield comparable results. Here's a sample file that includes both the original and Storyline versions.
That little doodad sure triggered a lot of questions. I'll put something together today or tomorrow on how I made it.
Thanks for the response, David. I use a Mac, and I have a similar graphic in Keynote but it wouldn't transfer. However, I figured out a way. I took the "nav bar," recreated it in the same color in Keynote, applied the graphic and then did a screenshot of it and imported it into Storyline. Worked nicely, but still not quite as good as yours so I'm thrilled to have this tool. Will be interested in your tutorial as well and will watch for it!
Again, many thanks!
Hi Toni - Here's a quick Screenr on how you can set it up using Storyline or even PowerPoint:
And here's the updated source file I used in the Screenr. Hope that helps and let me know if you have any questions!
Here's one more method you can try:
