Self Assessment Answers - Can you group them into categories for tracking?

Jul 20, 2017

Hello, community.

I'm trying to create a self assessment for employees to use.  The goal is to use the values of the questions to populate "Culture Pillars" which document an employee's growth in a particular area.

There are 24 questions, which are grouped into 8 pillars.  Currently the questions are valued 1 - 5, where 1 is considered poor, and 5 is considered excellent.

What I want, is for the values (1-5) for each question to be assigned to their corresponding group, and for those values (3 total) to be added together.  The resulting total for that category would be the score entered into the system for tracking.  So, for example, there would be 3 questions in one pillar and if each of the values entered for those questions (1-5) was 2, then the Total Score would be 6.

Is this possible in SL?

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

Great question, and sounds like this example on how to Create a personality test in Storyline would be similar to your groupings of categories. It's been updated for Storyline 3/360 - but you'll see a link to the older example created in Storyline 1.

I'd also suggest reaching out in the Building Better Courses side of ELH and see if there is anyone who can help! That side tends to focus more on design and how to.

Hope that helps!
