Set Text Entry without clicking outside of box?

Apr 25, 2017

I would like to enable my learners to type in a text entry box and get results without having to click outside of the box.  How can I do that? Right now, all of my triggers have the condition "If TextEntry is equal to/not equal to ____," but none of them work until my learner types and then clicks outside of the box.

I was doing a maths one that had loads and loads of data entry and I had the same problem. One box I set though was different somehow, I'm not sure if its to do with the height of the box or anything specific but it would confirm the box when you hit enter instead of going on to a new line. I don't know why it does and I couldn't find any reason or option for it but it worked. So instead of getting new ones I copied and pasted that box every time and yeah, it worked as you expect the box to.

Try copy it out of this story and paste it into yours to see if its magically properties transfer. Careful on resizing though sometimes the behaviour goes back to normal.

Ok. Thank you all. I ended up just calling it out on the slide though the true-to-life action would not have them do that. Ah well.
@Bruce French-- I tried the attachment you sent, but it looks like somewhere between how it exists/behaves with you and me downloading the file, Storyline remembered that it prefers "enter" to go to a new line. Thank you for trying though!!
