Setting Character Styles

Dec 06, 2016

Hi there,

I am curious: What is the point of the "Theme fonts" in reference to importing a course from Powerpoint which needs all the fonts changed?

The course I am working on imports all fonts as Arial. I want to change all body copy to Open Sans, and the headings to a font called Cabin. I have my theme fonts set for this, but it makes no difference for an import like this.

Moreover, this course has close to 200 slides. For each slide, I have to manually change all the fonts/sizes, as there is no way to change all fonts easily throughout the document. Put simply, this is a waste of time for me and therefore a waste of money for my company for me to spend a whole day clicking and changing fonts.

Is there a workaround for this that I haven't yet come across?

Thank you,
Kaitlin

Hi there Kaitlin, thanks for reaching out here! To clarify, you set the Cabin and Open Sans theme font in Storyline, correct?

I did some testing on my end and found that when I imported a PowerPoint slide into Storyline, the Storyline theme fonts were not applied to the imported slide. I'm going to continue testing this and also share the issue with our Quality Assurance team.

Have you tried setting the theme font in PowerPoint to Cabin and Open Sans first, then importing into Storyline?

Hi Alyssa,

Thanks for the response!

Correct: I set the theme font in Storyline.

I am now trying to set the theme font in PowerPoint, but there does not seem to be an option to set a custom font theme. I'm using PowerPoint for Mac, Version 15.24, and have attached a screenshot of the panel I'm looking at.

Hi all,

I wanted to provide an update here, as Articulate 360 Update 3 was just released, and included a number of fixes which you can see in the release notes available here. The item you all may be particularly interested in is how it fixed an issue where theme fonts wouldn't always apply correctly. When you open the 360 Desktop application you’ll be prompted to  download the latest update and after downloading and installing the latest update you’ll want to republish any existing content to ensure that the updates and fixes are applied.
