Does Storyline allow you to set focus on a screen load? For example, I want the text box of a slide to be active (focus) when each screen loads so the student does not have to click in the text box to enter text.
You can't specify which item has the focus on screen load. However, you might be able to move the text entry box to the "back" of the slide as a workaround. Try right-clicking the text entry field & choose Send to Back.
This thread is a bit dated. I'm assuming that you are popping in to offer a suggestion to the user vs asking if you can use JavaScript. I'm no JavaScript pro either way :)
I'm not sure what other previous posts you are referring to or if you attempted Brian's suggestion here, but there are many users discussing a similar set-up here.
If you have a file that you would like us to take a look at, please feel free to share. I'm sure someone in the community could assist.

What about using JavaScript to set the focus?
