Shapes Move When Published

Feb 05, 2013

I have a series of shapes that are aligned with one another on some of my slides. I have aligned them to be centered to each other using the align tool, but when I publish them, some of the shapes shift by a few pixels, and the alignment is ruined. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi Victoria,

I remember seeing a similar issue, before Update 2 was released. Have you updated Storyline recently? You can find the version by clicking on "Help" and "About Articulate Storyline". Does it say "2" or "1" before the version number? If it doesn't say "2", please try to download and install Update 2

If you install the update and you see no changes, can you tell me how you're viewing the published content? Are you viewing it locally, or have you uploaded it to a web server or LMS?

Thanks!

Good morning Victoria,

Thanks very much for getting back to me. Also, thank you for confirming that you're running Update 2. The next thing I'd like you to check is your current DPI settings, if possible. Storyline will function as expected when Windows is set to 96 DPI (dots per inch).

Storyline doesn't currently support 120 DPI. If your system is set to 120 DPI, you may experience erratic behavior, such as:

*  Elements of the application are misplaced or distorted.

*  Objects are misplaced or distorted when previewed or published.

*  Zoomed images don't work as expected.

*  Font sizes are incorrect after using the translation features.

Here's how you can switch to 96 DPI.

If you still experience this after following the steps provided in the article, please submit a support case with us. You'll be able to attach your project's .STORY file on the second page of the form. Also, please share the case number with me (you're welcome to post it here, or send it to me in a private message).

Thanks,

Christine
