Show content only if user fails quiz

Feb 07, 2019

I'm working on a course that contains material that many people taking might have already mastered; therefore I'd like to be able to have the students take a quiz for a given topic, give them three attempts to get above a 85% and if they can't, then force them to view the content and retake the quiz at the end.  This is my first time trying something like this so I'm not entirely sure how to accomplish it.  Any help / guidance would be appreciated.  I've thought about giving them a quiz and then if they fail, have a button on the 'you failed' results layer that would take them to the content; afterwards I'd have them take a different quiz.  This doesn't seem like the right way to do it though and I'm not sure then how to get the proper results to report to the LMS.

I've done a few courses where the learner can test out and if they pass they don't have to view the content. Mine have been using a Question Bank of say 30 questions with 10 drawn randomly so odds are they aren't getting the same 10 each time. Sounds like you have three separate quizzes?

I basically want to do something similar to what you did; give them the ability to test out and not view the content if they pass.  I just meant I wanted them to have more than one attempt at the initial test out before they have to view the content.  And then after they view the content I'd like them to return to the quiz and prove that they understand.  I hope that makes sense.  If the student passes the initial quiz, that's it; if they fail, then they view the content and take another quiz (or maybe the same initial quiz).
