When on slide 20, the button or keystroke navigates back to slide 1. However, you want to open slide 1 with layer X

Create a variable ToSlide1LayerX, true/false, default false

Create a trigger on slide 20 to set the variable to true (can be either 'When timeline starts' or 'When user clicks button' or 'On keystroke'). Be sure that the trigger is executed before the action to navigate to slide 1 is executed.

On slide 1, add a slide trigger 'Show layer X' when timeline starts and add a condition if ToSlide1LayerX is equal to true. If necessary you can reset the variable when the timeline starts on the layer.

Not very easy, but it works. Copying a slide layer is maybe easier.
